Medical Practitioner

The Passamaquoddy Health Center (PHC) is seeking a medical practitioner. The medical practitioner will serve as a primary care provider for our patients, and will provide the highest standards of care. This is a full-time position within the Medical Department of the Passamaquoddy Health Center.

Licensure and Certifications

  1. Unrestricted license to practice dentistry.
  2. Current CPR(BLS) certification. 
  3. Maine DEA registrations.

Education and Experience

  1. Graduation from an accredited Medical School and/or minimum of five years’ clinical experience preferred.
  2. Completion of an accredited general practice residency program is preferred.
  3. Knowledge of public health principles and practices is preferred.
  4. Administrative, management, supervisory skills preferred.

Knowledge, Skill, Abilities

  1. Must be computer proficient, excel application skills and must possess good communication skills. Ability to interact with patients and co-workers in a courteous and productive manner. 
  2. Prioritize tasks and follow them through to completion in a timely manner, with minimal supervision. 
  3. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Ability to keep up to date with current changes in policies and regulations of eligibility.
  5. Knowledgeable of HIPAA guidelines and 1974 Privacy Act involving confidentiality, Civil and Criminal penalties for unlawful disclosure of patient information.
  6. Must have strong knowledge of dental and medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medications and laboratory values.
  7. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
  8. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  9. Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment.
  10. Must be able to stay focused and concentrate under normal or heavy distractions.
  11. Must be able to work well under pressure and or stressful conditions.
  12. Must possess the ability to manage change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately.
  13. Demonstrates reliability and abides by the company attendance policy.
