Eligibility


Eligibility means meeting certain requirements that entitle you to receive health care services from the Passamaquoddy Health Center.  All of the requirement guidelines follow IHS regulations, but are established locally by policy.  These requirements apply to any and all persons wishing to receive service from PHC resources and/or facilities.  The eligibility factors are separate for Direct Services and Purchased/Referred Care Services and depend on the location of your residence.

Eligibility for Direct Services residing in the Purchased/Referred Care Service Delivery Area

  1. Enrolled Passamaquoddy Citizens
  2. Children of enrolled Citizens
  3. Descendants of enrolled Citizens under 18 years of age (documentation needed)
  4. Enrolled citizens of other federally recognized Tribal Nations
  5. A non-native woman pregnant with eligible native’s child (up to six weeks postpartum)

Eligibility for Purchased/Referred Care Services while residing in the Purchased/Referred Care Service Delivery Area

  1. Enrolled Passamaquoddy Citizen
  2. A non-native woman pregnant with an eligible native’s child (up to six weeks postpartum)
  3. Member of another federally recognized Tribe, employed by Indian Township Tribal Government (i.e. close social and/or economic ties to the community)
